Lac-Mégantic Train Derailment – BTEX Content in Crude Oil

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has recently released its engineering laboratory report of the crude oil contained in the tank cars of the train that derailed in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec on July 6, 2013. The report contains the analytical results of oil samples submitted to several labs across Canada for physical and chemical testing. CASSEN Testing Laboratories was requested to perform the chemical testing of Benzene, Ethylbenzene, Toluene and Xylenes (BTEX) in crude oil samples.
